CONSTRUCTION BUYER (M&E BIASED)- Leeds
Package - £40,000 to £45,000 pa plus benefits
A well-established main contractor with an annual turnover in excess of £120M who work predominantly in the Healthcare sector. With an enviable forward order book of work secured for the next 12 months. This is a hugely successful, privately owned, independent development and construction business with an entrepreneurial approach to everything they do. The company specialises in the construction of accommodation based projects throughout the UK and have significant growth plans moving forward.
Due to a significant increase in new projects my clients are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and committed M&E Buyer to join a very successful team going through a major growth period
You will mainly be responsible for ensuring that the materials required for projects are provided to schedule and according to projected budgets. You will play a vital part in helping ensure profitability of contracts and ensure the most cost effective and appropriate materials are purchased.
Key Experience required:
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience within building services / M&E buying in the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of products & Categories
- Identify & seek key suppliers to deliver project packages
- Identify & select suppliers
- Negotiation, meeting price targets and placing orders
- Scheduling to program & site logistics
- Liaise with contracts managers to manage procurement schedule
- Good communication skills, ability to work on own initiative and drive the procurement function
- Good excel skills.
A proactive problem solver, a confident communicator with strong negotiating skills and a team player, someone who can prioritise tasks and manage their time to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to build good relationships, be well organised and self-motivated.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of buying, preferably within the construction industry. A CIPS qualification would also be an advantage but is not essential.
This opportunity comes with a salary of between £40,000 - £45,000 pa dependent on previous experience plus benefits.
