The company:
This is a market leader in fit out and construction for some of the best known retailers in the UK. Based in Yorkshire and operating nationally the business has a turn over £60M and is looking to double this over the next 18 months.
The role:
Due to the continued success of the business they have a requirement for a Freelance Quantity Surveyor with retail construction and fit out knowledge. Reporting in to the Commercial Manager you will have responsibility of your own projects from feasibility/scoping to final accounts with values from £10k - £500K.
You will need to be able to undertake the following responsibilities:
- Attendance to scoping/survey meetings.
- Liaison with Client Project Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager.
- Subcontractor enquiries.
- Subcontractor cost analysis.
- Provide support to Commercial Manager.
- Placing of Subcontractor orders.
- Provide support to delivery teams.
- Preparing budget costings, bills of quantities.
- Capable of managing several projects at one time.
- Commercial reporting.
- Undertaking valuations.
- Prepare/submit final accounts.
- Arranging payments to Subcontractors.
- Cash flow forecasting.
- Final accounting.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
- Experience of managing retail building works projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction techniques.
- Good numerical skills
- Good IT and software operation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
