This business has evolved into one of the largest privately owned construction, infrastructure and support services groups in the country. The Yorkshire construction business focus is on both public and private sector clients across key sectors of construction including, Education, Healthcare, Commercial and residential.
Role:
The current requirement is for a Site manager to work with the Project Manager on a £8M new build and refurb accommodation project in York so you should have experience of projects up to £10M.
This is a freelance role which will continue to project completion in June 2019.
Extensive Site Management experience overseeing projects to a value of £10M is essential as is being able to manage both direct labour and sub-contractor's alike. You will need new build and traditional build project experience on accommodation based projects and have the ability to ensure very high build quality standards are met on site. You will have SMSTS or CSCS Site Safety accreditation.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Leading regular site meetings with professionals, including quantity surveyors, building services engineers, subcontractors, and the client.
- Maintaining strict quality control procedures - this necessitates regular testing of materials, visual inspections of work, and frequent tours of the site.
- Conducting regular site safety checks.
- Ensuring the project runs to schedule and to budget, including finding solutions to problems that may cause delays, i.e. late arrival of materials etc.
This is a freelance role with a day rate of up to £230.
