Responsible to Production Manager

The Company

This is an innovative and dynamic modular housing business that is developing a name in the fast emerging off site construction industry producing factory built modular homes for the UK private housing market with a plan to be manufacturing 2000 homes a year in the next 5 years this is a business that is going places.

Role

Responsible for the role of a Planner / Systems co-ordinator is required to ensure production and site manufacturing programmes are executed to the contractual commitments of projects. The role will also be responsible for the recording and monitoring KIPs of the production process, as to assist the Production Manager in production planning activities as to ensuring the quality of the product, managing resources and labour and the continuous improvement processes.

Main objective of post the role of a Planner / Systems co-ordinator is required to ensure production and site manufacturing programmes are executed to the contractual commitments of projects. The role will also be responsible for the recording and monitoring KIPs of the production process, as to assist the Production Manager in production planning activities as to ensuring the quality of the product, managing resources and labour and the continuous improvement processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Create, update and maintain Production Schedules in line with business requirements
  • Producing Site Material Kit Lists to enable uninterrupted site operations and requisitioning materials from Purchasing to meet the required module delivery dates
  • Using the Master Schedule identify requirement dates for material and liaise with Purchasing to ensure uninterrupted Production productivity
  • Program the subcontractor activities to ensure efficient running of schedule
  • Build and improve/implement production planning processes
  • Generate productivity reports and monitor against KPIs
  • Develop comprehensive daily production line plans to satisfy demand.
  • Track and trace items through manufacturing as required.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of production and demand data.
  • Define and implement levelled schedules.
  • Support the planning activity of Production Manager.
  • Maintain and realise improvement opportunities for responsible processes.
  • Review, develop, prepare, and/or improve processes, procedures and work instructions. Conducting training on these where necessary and appropriate.
  • Standardise and document processes for the Department.
  • Ensure that Health & Safety requirements are maintained to a high standard
  • Audit of Systems as to ensure processes are maintained and continually improved and certification are upheld.
  • Qualifications

  • Strong academic achievements, ideally degree educated or equivalent
  • IOSH
  • Internal Auditor
  • NEBOSH
  • Lead Auditor
  • Experience

  • Strong experience of production planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Labour and Material cost analysis
  • Experience of route cause analysis processes and techniques
  • Worked within a modular construction/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge

  • Knowledge of planning & Scheduling systems
  • Strong IT knowledge Excel
  • Knowledge of supply chain and production scheduling
  • Knowledge of construction materials and processes
  • Knowledge of construction material and process
  • Skills

  • Strong analytical background with excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills, able to build relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers
  • Strong influencing, negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and organise workloads in a pressured environment
  • Confidence to push for change through own initiative
  • Analytical skills to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to enforce standards and process
  • Ability to maintain focus during periods of high pressure
