The Business
Our client is a well-established, successful building and construction services company with a proven track record for delivering award winning projects for an international portfolio of developers, public sector clients and blue chip companies.
The business is privately owned with director owners taking a hands-on role within the company. Current turnover stands at approximately £120m per annum which is predominantly made up of over 80% of workload being negotiated directly or for repeat clients.
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced and talented Project Manager to deliver a high profile £40m apartment project at the Quayside in Newcastle initially.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of project and management of site teams as number 1 on site
- Establish a project plan from inception to completion considering all relevant statutory and client requirements, establish targets with respect to project delivery; monitor and report on progress against these targets
- Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects including management and delivery of project milestones
- Effectively manage and maintain appropriate budget costs, achieving targets
- Manage the decision making process by carrying out all necessary liaison and negotiations with all parties involved ensuring value for money
- Carry out contract administration including financial management, liaising with external consultants where employed
- Produce the Contract Programme, short term programmes, as built programmes and monitor / report progress as required
- Resolve technical problems ensuring work is carried out to the correct specification and QA standards
You will have:
- Relevant qualifications and experience as a Construction Project Manager
- Full understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation
- Steel and RC Frame and intricate brickwork detailing experience (preferred)
- Experience of working in live environments
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Commercial and contractual awareness
- Ability to manage all stakeholder relationships
- A full UK Drivers Licence
- Energy, drive and a passion for construction!
