This is a very successful main building contractor operating throughout the UK. Although a tier one contractor it manages avoid the feel of a corporate and is very much a people focussed business.

They have a great deal of repeat business which is testament to the quality of the projects they deliver.
Role:
The current requirement is for a Project Quantity Surveyor with experience of acting as number one on site. The scheme you will initially be assigned to is a multimillion pound stadium new build and refurbishment with new stand and large conference and hospitality facilities for a famous Yorkshire club.
Working in this fast-paced environment. The role will be based out of the Wakefield office with frequent site visits 2/3 days per week on site within the Yorkshire region.
You will play a key role in the commercial success of this and future schemes including:
- To be a pivotal member of the regional commercial team.
- Full Quantity Surveying skills including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections
- Submitting accurate detailed payment applications
- Identifying areas of overspend and waste
- Identifying and reviewing areas of commercial risk and opportunity
- Chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments
- Ensuring records are made and recorded to support any variations and claims
- Producing accurate internal reporting
- Optimise cash in and the net cash position
- Advise on commercial risks and opportunities within the project/s
- Negotiate with clients representatives and other consultants
- Advise Project Management on contractual implications of intended courses of action
You should be Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, ideally RICS qualified.
This is a permanent role with excellent career progression. Salary is to £55,000pa + car allowance + excellent package.
