Warehouse and Logistics Manager - required to join well established manufacturing company in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
About the business: Our Client is one of the largest manufacturers and printers of solid board boxes for the Food Industry in the UK, as well as a premium supplier of packaging material to the Bedding and Furniture Industry. Reinvesting in state of the art production technology to meet the ever increasing demands of their customers, they pride themselves on delivering high levels of service and quality, with exceptional customer retention.
About the role: This is a proactive Logistics role; managing the warehouse, despatches, transport and importation documentation across the site in a busy, fast paced environment.
Motivating and coordinating an established team of warehouse operatives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a successful team, including performance management.
Managing the accurate, timely picking and despatch of goods
Booking and coordinating transport with our external haulage partners to ensure customer deliveries are made on time.
Liaising with the sales team to investigate and resolve any customer delivery issues, to provide a satisfactory resolution for the customer.
Handling and processing of all Importation paperwork to ensure complete and timely customs clearance for daily European deliveries of raw materials.
Identifying, communicating and resolving inventory discrepancies, including managing the month end stock take and year end audit.
Ensuring warehousing is managed safely with contingency to cover for peak seasons.
Working alongside the Production Manager to ensure the Company complies with all health and safety legislation, as well as internal and external audits of the warehouse, including BRC.
About you: The successful candidate will have experience supervising a busy warehouse
- Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workload, multi task and work well under time constraint pressures
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience within a varied and busy logistics environment
- Experience of managing a team, including conducting performance management and disciplinary meetings
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
- Working knowledge of Sage accounts and manufacturing is an advantage but not essential,
- Experience of importation paperwork, including CHIEF is desirable, but not essential
- Counterbalance FLT Licence is preferred, but not essential
Working Hours: 8am - 5.15pm with 1 hour lunch break
