Leeds - Yorkshire
The Opportunity
Our Client is looking for an experienced Project Manager who is driven and ambitious. Managing projects from inception to completion, you will have sound technical and Health & Safety knowledge, and ensuring quality and best practice will be second nature to you. Initially delivering a £30m Student Accommodation project in Leeds, you will then move onto other projects in the Yorkshire region.
The Business
This is an award winning main contractor who works primarily with private sector clients and developers throughout the UK. Their diverse portfolio of projects of all sizes across sectors including commercial, industrial and manufacturing, PRS and student accommodation.
The Role
What you will do:
- Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing the necessary input to allow the Quantity Surveyor to report on the current and projected financial status of the project.
- Develop the projects main logic of works programme.
- Ensure that no work commences on site until health and safety policy and the relevant construction phase plan is in place.
- Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Safety Plan and to observe the requirement of the CDM Regulations in the status of Principal Contractor.
- Provide leadership and support to all employees.
- Manage labour and maintain high productivity.
- Expedite materials and information release from design team.
- Comply with the requirements of the company's Quality Procedure and Manual.
- Manage all sub-contractors and supply chain effectively.
- Supervise the quality of the works and hand over a snag free building.
- At all times to represent the company in the best possible way, be courteous and professional working to the highest ethical standards.
The Person
What you will need:
- A Construction or Civil Engineering related degree or a trade background with construction management experience
- Leadership experience in the construction industry or housebuilding sector
- Valid CSCS Management card
- Certified SMSTS
- Competent in Health and Safety practise
- A member of CIOB, ICE or CEng (Desirable)
