Our client is a privately owned building contractor with a specialism in roofing and associated building works, covering Health and Education, Commercial, Banking, Industrial and other Public Sectors.
The team are highly trained, multi skilled and dedicated to completing contracts on time and to the highest possible standards.
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Estimating Quantity Surveyor to join the business, working alongside the Managing Director, Construction Director and Office Manager on a day-to-day basis.
This is a hands-on position, where you will be very much part of a small team and be involved from the outset.
Job Description:
- Read Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Works, blueprints and take measurements.
- Calculate the cost of materials, labour, transport and equipment hire.
- Send out tender packs to obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and submit quotations for work.
- Oversee the project costs to ensure costs remain in line with the forecast.
- Deal with clients at all levels, including Construction Managers, Planners and Design teams, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Skills Required:
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Ability to assess and adhere to health and safety requirements.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Driving license.
- Hold a CSCS card.
