This is quite simply one of the most successful construction companies in the UK. Working on numerous long-term frameworks in the Cumbria and surrounding area this tier one main contractor is seeking an additional Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the dynamic team.

Projects you will be involved with range from £5M-£20M including new build schools and colleges, hotels and commercial developments.

Role:

The current requirement is for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work in this fast-paced environment. Ideally you will have experience of large projects both new build and refurbishments.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Assistant Surveyor from a main contractor or a sub contractor providing you have excellent project exposure. The key for this role is finding a candidate who wants to be successful with drive, ambition and a history of profitable projects.

You will play a key role in the commercial success of schemes including:

  • Full Quantity Surveying skills including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections
  • Submitting accurate detailed payment applications
  • Identifying areas of overspend and waste
  • Identifying and reviewing areas of commercial risk and opportunity
  • Chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments
  • Ensuring records are made and recorded to support any variations and claims
  • Producing accurate internal reporting
  • Optimise cash in and the net cash position
  • Advise on commercial risks and opportunities within the project/s
  • Negotiate with clients representatives and other consultants
  • Advise Project Management on contractual implications of intended courses of action
  • Ideally you will be Degree qualified in Commercial Managment or Quantity Surveying and completed or working toward MRICS.

    This is a permanent role with excellent career progression. Salary is to £40,000pa + car allowance + excellent package.
