- Description
This is the Major Projects Division of a tier one national main contactor operating nationally on some of the largest regeneration and new build projects in the UK.
The company is currently at Pre-con stage on a £130M build project in the North East and require an additional experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. This is a large development requiring surveyors with experience on major projects.
The scheme is due to run for the next 3 years and would suit an individual looking for a long-term career move with excellent career prospects.
This is a permanent role and you will play a key part in the commercial success of this and future schemes including:
- Involved in Pre-construction commercial activity of project and subsequently manage commercial delivery of this major scheme.
- To provide feedback on deviation from cost bill
- Prepare and accurately forecast final accounts
- To develop strong customer relationships with key clients and their officers
- To take overall responsibility and accountability for the commercial elements on a number of contracts
- To offer assistance, support and mentoring to other team members
- To assist the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming
- Change management control
- Profit and delivery maximisation and efficiency
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
- To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting
- Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
- Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner
- Process subcontractor requests for payment
- Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designation projects
- Attend project and company related meetings
- Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation
- Review Drawings for design changes to ensure any changes/ costs are recorded.
- Maintaining and developing professional relationships with the Client, to help future business development
You should be Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, ideally RICS qualified.
This is a permanent role with excellent career progression. Salary is to £70,000pa (depending on experience) + car (including electric Tesla etc) or car allowance + excellent package.
