This is a leading housing development company specialising in new build development projects that are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable residential communities. As the business continue to grow, they are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team and contribute to the success of projects.
 
Role:
As a Buyer specialising in new build housing, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, procuring materials and services necessary for the successful execution of residential development projects. Expertise in the construction industry, coupled with strong negotiation skills, will be essential in ensuring cost-effective solutions, without compromising on quality.
 
Responsibilities:
·       Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to identify the materials and services required for each new build housing project.
·       Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and subcontractors, evaluating their capabilities, pricing, and track record.
·       Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive costs and favourable terms for the company.
·       Manage supplier relationships, monitoring performance, quality, and delivery timelines.
·       Work closely with the construction team to ensure that materials and services are delivered on time and meet the required specifications.
·       Monitor industry trends, changes in regulations, and advancements in construction materials to make informed sourcing decisions.
·       Collaborate with the finance department to track and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the procurement process.
·       Participate in regular meetings, with cross-functional teams to provide updates on procurement activities and address any issues that may arise.
 
Qualifications:
·       5 years minimum experience as a Buyer, preferably with a focus on new build housing or residential construction projects.
·       Strong understanding of construction materials, processes, and industry standards.
·       Proven track record of successful negotiations and cost-effective procurement strategies.
·       Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
·       Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·       Competitive salary between £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year depending on experience plus performance-based bonuses.
