The company:
This is a major player in the Modular Housing sector set to become a market leader supplying modular affordable homes throughout the UK.
With a high tech manufacturing facility fully operational each modular home is produced on a production line ensuring the highest quality build. The company envisage sales of 2000 affordable housing units per year to tackle the UK's housing shortage.
Summary of Position:
This is an opportunity for a motivated Business Development Support to join on a permanent basis and lead the creation and development of a business pipeline.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive contribution to this growing and progressive organisation and both advise on and put in place the necessary procedures and practices that will equip them for the next stages of growth.
The role requires the ability to think and plan your workload strategically, think on your feet deliver to agreed timelines. Individuals must have a communication style and gravitas that allows them to support the Business Development team in a constructive way.
The position is ideal for anyone wanting to take the next step; specifically, as the significant growth planned for the business will mean that there are plenty of opportunity to develop into a more senior position, should the candidate be interested in that career progression.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create information packs on new clients ahead of any BDM interactions.
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within their organisation.
- Support the planning of approaches and pitches by working with the team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns and objectives.
- Help enhance existing relationships by working with internal technical staff and other colleagues to answer customer questions.
- Liaise with client's assistants and teams to co-ordinate workshops and other meetings.
- Support the submission of weekly progress reports and ensure BDMs accurately enter and manage data within the company's CRM system.
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets.
- Understand the company's goals, people, capabilities and ethos as well as continually strive to enhance performance.
Personal Specifications:
Experience
- Some understanding of the construction industry with 1-3 years of experience supporting larger scale projects (£1m+).
- Proven track record of delivering outputs on time and within budget.
- Understanding of pipeline management.
- Experience working with bid teams and ability to prioritise workload.
- Some experience working within affordable housing would be beneficial.
Qualities & Attitude:
- Strong communicator with the ability to create and build effective relationships with all levels of the business.
- You will be a robust individual with a 'can-do', positive, attitude.
- Flexible approach and not phased when deadlines and tasks change.
- Technically minded with excellent attention to detail.
- A team player but able to work well autonomously.
This opportunity comes with a salary to £30,000pa + benefits package.
