Quality Document Controller
Location: Knaresborough
Reports to: Change Controller
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 - 17:00 Monday Friday

Summary of Position:
At the core of this, the Quality Assurance team are working to ensure we deliver on this element of our mission. Ensuring the department, and the business, collects, distributes and controls all of the relevant documentation is a pivotal part of our Quality System. The Document Controller, therefore, plays an important part in ensuring the smooth running of the Quality Management Systems and the relationships of the Quality Department with other important functions within the business.
The Quality Document Controller will collect, record and issue control documents relating to products, materials, projects and processes. To achieve this successfully the Quality Document Controller interfaces with all departments, both technical and commercial and is accountable for ensuring all of the relevant documentation is collected and distributed in a timely manner. As the business progresses, managing the change control of these documents, as they are superseded by updates and revisions will also be vital to the success of the role
Demonstrating good discipline and personal organisation along with an enthusiasm for product and process quality, the Quality Document Controller will help to ensure all business functions have access to the most up to date product, process and materials documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the processes around documentation within the organisation. This include Procedures, Policies, SOP`s, Material Documentations, Technical Specifications, Forms and Records
- Review and update documents to reflect changes as necessary
- Ensure the rules for document storage, distribution, access and change control are compliant to internal and external requirements, all documentation meets format requirements
- Notify and/or distribute updated documents to relevant personnel
- Patriciate in the development and management of an electronic document control system
- Working with Design to ensure controlled copies of relevant standards, regulations and technical documentation is available, as required, within the business
- Ensure that records are kept in a systematic way and available as required to internal and external parties
- Conduct regular review audits
Qualifications & Training:
- A minimum of four GCSEs, including maths and English, at grade 4 (C) or above, or their equivalents, such as the Welsh Baccalaureate or Scottish Nationals
- Familiarity with the core elements of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years business administration
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering or construction environment is an advantage
- Experience with SharePoint or Document Control System is advantage
