The Opportunity
My client is looking to recruit a Project Manager to be project lead on a Student Accommn build in Birmingham. This role would suit an experienced Project Manager, with experience of new build projects up to £25m in value.
The Business
The business is an award winning Yorkshire based Construction and Development business, working in the care and student accommodation sectors. The successful candidate would be joining a dynamic and professional business with an experienced and progressive senior leadership team.
The Role
This role is for a Project Manager on a £22m Student Accommodation project in Birmingham. You will be number 1 on site with a Site Manager reporting in to you. This could be an immediate start for the right candidate.
The Individual
- You will be a Project Manager or ambitious Site Manager with project experience up to £25m or above.
- You will ideally have experience of new build commercial buildings in either the care, education or student accommodation sectors.
- Lead the delivery of projects
- Establish a project plan from inception to completion considering all relevant statutory and client requirements, establish targets with respect to project delivery; monitor and report on progress against these targets
- Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects including management and delivery of project milestones
- Effectively manage and maintain appropriate budget costs, achieving targets
- Manage the decision making process by carrying out all necessary liaison and negotiations with all parties involved ensuring value for money
- Carry out contract administration including financial management, liaising with external consultants where employed
- Produce the Contract Programme, short term programmes, as built programmes and monitor / report progress as required
- Resolve technical problems ensuring work is carried out to the correct specification and QA standards
You will have:
- Relevant qualifications and experience as a Construction Project Manager
- Full understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation
- Steel and RC Frame and intricate brickwork detailing experience (preferred)
- Experience of working in live environments
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Commercial and contractual awareness
- Ability to manage all stakeholder relationships
- A full UK Drivers Licence
- Energy, drive and a passion for construction!
