This is a tier one main building contractor operating throughout the UK. Due to continued success the Yorkshire region based in Wakefield with its strong client base is expanding the commercial team.
This is a high energy, ambitious, team with an entrepreneurial culture that are looking for like minded individual to complement the Yorkshire business. Projects range from £50k to £50M.
Role:
The current requirement is for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for Healthcare projects to work in this fast paced environment. The role will be based out of the Wakefield office with frequent site visits 2/3 days per week on site within the region.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Surveyor from a tier one main contractor with a successful history of healthcare projects. The key for this role is finding a candidate who wants to be successful with drive, ambition and a history of profitable schemes.
You will play a key role in the commercial success of schemes including:
- To be a pivotal member of the regional commercial team.
- Full Quantity Surveying skills including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections
- Submitting accurate detailed payment applications
- Identifying areas of overspend and waste
- Identifying and reviewing areas of commercial risk and opportunity
- Chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments
- Ensuring records are made and recorded to support any variations and claims
- Producing accurate internal reporting
- Optimise cash in and the net cash position
- Advise on commercial risks and opportunities within the project/s
- Negotiate with clients representatives and other consultants
- Advise Project Management on contractual implications of intended courses of action
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, ideally RICS qualified.
This is a permanent role with excellent career progression. Salary is to £60,000pa + car allowance + excellent package.
