MANAGING SURVEYOR
Company
This is a successful national main contractor operating throughout the UK specialising in large accommodation projects both new build and regeneration including PRS schemes, student accommodation, care homes and affordable housing.
Role
Based in the Midlands the current requirement is for a Managing Surveyor to oversee the commercial elements on several schemes taking responsibility and being accountable for successful financial delivery of designated projects.
Ideally you will have senior commercial experience on low rise housing and care home projects managing a team or numerous teams.
Reporting into the regional Commercial Director responsibilities will include:-
- Oversee and manage the commercial teams
- Develop strong customer relationships with key clients
- To authorise Commercial staffs sub-contract appointment proposals in line with the businesses profit plan and targets
- Change management control
- Profit maximisation and efficiency
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
- To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting
- Develop an understanding of the designated contracts, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
- Assist the Managers with subcontractor selection
- Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner (of any designated schemes)
- Ensure that subcontractor requests for payment are appropriately processed in a timely and contractual manner
- Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designation projects
- Ensure the company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by any contractual or financial arrangement
- Oversee staff to ensure they Manage the costs on any assigned project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of all commercial matters
You should be Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, ideally RICS qualified and have a minimum of 3 year's experience within a senior surveying position managing a team.
This is a permanent role with excellent career progression. Salary is to £75,000pa + car allowance + excellent package.
