Senior Project Manager
Project Location: Keighley
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Yorkshire regional team of one of the largest, family owned national construction, infrastructure and support services businesses in the UK. The business works across a range of sectors including, Student Accommodation, Education, Healthcare, Commercial etc. This is a well-established and financially stable group providing professional development opportunities and highly competitive salary and benefits packages to its people.
The initial project, which is up to 3 years on a live NHS refurbishment project in Keighey. requires a Project Manager with relevant experience, to manage and lead the project from its initial stages to completion. To meet the demands of production, profitability, safety, quality, and to manage sub-contractors to ensure that pre-set completion targets are met. To promote a harmonious working relationship between the project team and the client's representatives.
The Role:
- Liaise with the customer, clients and design team.
- Work closely with the company's Senior Quantity Surveyor, providing the necessary input to allow the QS to report on the current and projected financial status of the project.
- To develop the main logic of the works programme and to monitor progress of the same weekly.
- Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Safety Plan and to observe the requirement of the CDM Regulations in the status of Principal Contractor.
- Provide leadership and support to site personnel and support staff.
- Liaise closely with the Health & Safety Team to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Source labour and maintain high productivity.
- Expedite materials and information release from design team.
- Day to day planning of operations and problem solving.
- Check and correct time sheets and allocation sheets.
- Comply with the requirements of the company's Quality Procedure and Manual.
- Attend meetings as required at the site and area offices.
- Hold, chair and minute sub-contractor meetings.
- Prepare reports for site meeting with design team and attend same.
- Answer correspondence and complete paperwork/administration relative to the project as directed by your manager.
- Report contractual risk situations to your manager.
- Manage the quality of the works and hand over a snag free building.
- Assist in the selection of sub-contractors and their scope of works.
- All other duties as assigned to effectively carry out your role.
- Aim for high productivity.
- Continuously assess non-productivity for reductions.
- Complete contracts on time.
- Strive to reduce costs and complete contract with budget.
- Maintain company profile on quality.
- Make safety the top priority on site and promote safe working culture.
- Handover to a satisfied Client for repeat business.
- Ensure reports/administration is completed/submitted within deadlines as and when required.
Qualifications /Experience Required:
- Experience of working in live NHS environments (desirable)
- Refurbishment experience in a clinical setting (desirabe)
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- Fire Marshal
- CSCS Manager's Card
- Asbestos Management
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator
- Scaffold Inspection
- Full driving licence
- Ability to communicate with employees and direct labour.
- Ability to convey necessary information to sub-contractors and clients.
- Health and Safety awareness.
- Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrate ability to lead the construction team.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages: Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
