The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced MEP Manager to join the Midlands senior delivery team of a well established, financially robust, UK multi disciplinary construction business.
Projects are predominantly new-build / refurbishment in the following sectors: Industrial, Living and Technologies.
The Person
You should be willing to travel within the central belt of England. You will have a good knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical services and hold an HNC as a minimum in either discipline. You will be able to demonstrate past project delivery experience and a general overview of project life cycles from procurement to PC.
You will have extensive experience of managing design, delivery, commissioning and handover of Building Services in a construction environment, while minimising any risks to the project and to the company.
The Role
The role revolves around the M&E management of supply chain partners on several projects simultaneously, or one larger project, predominantly focussing on the live delivery aspect.
Typical responsibilities will include:-
- Managing design, delivery, commissioning and handover of Building Services in a construction environment, while minimising any risks to the project and to the company.
- Management of incoming utilities.
- To provide guidance in the production of the project programmes and ongoing progress reporting.
- To contribute to project reports and attend Project Meetings where appropriate.
- To attend, and chair where appropriate, meetings with the Client, the designers, specialist contractors and the wider project team.
- To pro-actively monitor Health & safety and Quality processes.
- Making sure projects comply with building regulations, planning conditions, specifications and BREEAM.
- Support the Quantity surveying and commercial teams with review of changes to contract and valuations of the work.
- Check ongoing installation for compliance with contract requirements (specification, drawings etc.) & advise the project or leadership team.
- Assist / advise on all technical issues e.g., procurement, contracts, final accounts and dispute resolution, relationship issues, reporting, quality, methods, philosophy, and culture.
- Take an active role in supply chain management.
- Ensure projects are successfully tested, commissioned, demonstrated and handed over complete with all training and records including assisting with Building Control Sign off
- Take an active role in closing out all defects in a timely manner.
