- Description
The Company:
This is a leading developer of cutting-edge care homes and retirement living across the UK, with offices near Leeds. Known for its ambitious growth and high-quality developments, the company is now building an in-house design team to drive architectural and technical innovation for its care developments—moving away from external architectural practices and taking full creative control.
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join at an exciting stage of growth. You’ll lead the technical and design development of our care projects, managing the design process from planning through all RIBA stages, chairing design and site meetings, and acting as the key interface between clients, contractors, and consultants.
Working closely with our Development and Land teams, you’ll also mentor junior team members and help shape high-quality, deliverable schemes. You will have the chance to work from concept to completion, making a real impact on the company’s portfolio of high-quality care developments.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Architectural Technology or HND
- Minimum of 10 years PQE
- Proven post-qualification experience
- Strong technical and project delivery skills
- CIAT membership (or working towards) / RIBA & ARB
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing projects from inception to completion
- Strong knowledge of Revit / BIM, including modelling and BIM strategy
- Extensive construction knowledge with the ability to produce construction and detailed working drawings efficiently
- Collaborative, proactive, and enthusiastic mindset
- Experience on accommodation-based projects up to £10M is advantageous
Why This Role Is Special:
- Join the company at a pivotal time of growth, helping to build and shape an internal design team
- Take ownership of projects from concept to completion
- Mentor and develop junior staff, influencing the next generation of architectural talent
- Work on exciting, high-quality care developments with a company committed to innovation
What’s in It for You:
- Competitive salary up to £55,000 + car allowance + benefits
- Birthday day off + 26 days holiday
- Hybrid working with flexible arrangements
- Free on-site parking
- Healthcare scheme and wellbeing support
- Career development opportunities in a fast-growing, forward-thinking company
This is not just another job—it’s a chance to join a dynamic, innovative business and make your mark on the UK’s care and retirement living landscape.
