Commercial Design Manager
Salary: Up to £65,000, car allowance + excellent benefits
Location: Huddersfield (Hybrid working available)

We’re looking for a commercially aware Design Manager to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy based near Huddersfield. Projects range from high rise residential refurbishments and cladding renewal to new build affordable housing developments.

You’ll play a key role overseeing the commercial management of the 20 strong architectural design team, ensuring strong financial control, client satisfaction, and commercial success across multiple live projects. This is an ideal opportunity for a Design Manager, Senior-level Architect or Technologist with strong commercial acumen.

In this unique hybrid role you will use your design and commercial experience to:

• Support and develop commercial awareness within the design team
• Maintain control of project profitability and fee recovery
• Oversee project contracts and invoicing
• Manage client relationships and project delivery

About You

• Strong commercial management experience in consultancy, design practice or contractor
• Familiar with RIBA Plan of Work stages 1–7
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
